The Missionaries of the Precious Blood have launched a newly redesigned vocations webpage to help assist young adults in discerning God’s call in their life, particularly those drawn to be a priest or brother missionary. In our design, we wanted material that would be attractive to seekers — young adults asking the question of vocational discernment — as well as material for vocation animators like yourselves — those who will accompany young people in their vocational discernment.  Our goal is to create an environment of discernment that is online and accessible to everyone.    

When you access the province website at www.preciousbloodus.org/vocation, you will see the vocation tab offering several options beginning with a Welcome video from Fr. Angelo, director of Vocation Ministry.  

The second tab is Discernment. The journey of discernment is rooted in a desire to do God’s will. This journey is an adventure of growing into the person God created us to be through prayer, reflection, conversation, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We offer tips for discernment and suggested tools to use in making decisions in your life. 

The third tab is Spiritual Lifestyle. The spirituality of the Precious Blood is a lived spirituality; it shapes our mission, community life, and how we live our lives. Examples of devotional prayer, contemplative prayer, Lectio Divina, and centering prayer are offered along with podcasts, videos, articles and books, music, and art reflecting the many facets of Precious Blood spirituality.   

The fourth tab is Calendar. Celebrating the current life of the province, we provide a live calendar of events such as discernment retreats, concert events, province feast days, and events, and the various national vocation days promoted by the USCCB.      

The final tab is Learning. This section offers an opportunity to explore faith-filled resources created to equip Catholic teachers, catechists, and those discerning a call to teach. From lesson ideas to spiritual encouragement, our Learning section is here to help you share the Gospel with confidence and purpose. New materials will be added monthly.
