Precious Blood Renewal Center May 2026 update

Two big pieces of news to share this month

First, we have just launched a national search for an executive director. The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator with an advanced degree in pastoral ministry, spirituality, or spiritual direction and five to seven years of work experience in these areas. We are looking for an individual who can guide the center into its next phase of development. Visit pbrenewalcenter.org/jobs for details and learn about the application procedure.

Secondly, as you are reading this article, the renovation of our guesthouse will be complete. As this article is being written, however, we’re at that stage when all the major work is done, but a thousand little tasks have yet to be ticked off the to-do list before we can cut the ribbon and reopen the guesthouse.

The goal of the project was to make the 35-year-old guesthouse more accessible. A wheelchair ramp was built, a first-floor suite was fully gutted so an accessible bathroom could be installed, and a first-floor office was converted into a bedroom for additional accessibility. All the old doors and windows were replaced with energy efficient units, guest room bathrooms were updated, and new flooring was laid throughout the building.

The renovation was made possible by generous donations to last summer’s campaign from the province’s Office of Mission Advancement. Thank you, Cara Keller and Fr. Kevin Scalf! Thanks also goes to Fr. Tim Coday, who spearheaded the project here in Liberty. Not only has Fr. Tim supervised the various contactors, but his handy work is also all over the project. He fabricated all new window frames and sills in his woodshop, he set new kitchen countertops, and he installed toilets and fixtures in the bathrooms. Thanks, Fr. Tim!

We haven’t housed overnight guests since March 1, but our programming has continued. Lucia Ferrara is wrapping up her hybrid program “18 Powerful Women of the Bible,” and Fr. Timothy Armbruster is preparing for the center’s annual World Labyrinth Day Celebration with a program he calls “The Three R’s of the Labyrinth: Release, Receive, and Return.” That will be held May 2, starting at 11 a.m. central time.

Fr. Ron Will is leading silent directed retreats on May 28-31. Everyone is invited to join us Saturday, June 27, at 11 a.m. for our annual summer picnic and social. For details, see pbrenewalcenter.org/events
