A love story blessed at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine

Francis Rakesh Namindla and Kylee McConnon came to the Sorrowful Mother Shrine to mark a truly special moment in their lives, one that would forever be rooted in faith, love, and God’s grace.

Kylee, a native of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, has always held a deep love for her faith and family. One of fourteen children, Kaylee grew up visiting the Shrine for family pilgrimages and picnics, forming memories that would stay close to her heart. She was homeschooled and later attended Lorain County Community College in collaboration with Ashland University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. Today, she shares her gifts as a first-grade teacher at Sheffield Academy Charter School.

Francis, originally from India, also grew up grounded in his Catholic faith, attending Bishop Beretta Catholic High School. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Business Analytics at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Their journey together began in a very modern way, with a shared commitment to faith guiding them. They met through the Catholic Match app, and after several months of conversation, both felt called to meet in person. Kylee chose a fun and memorable first meeting place — Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. What began as a simple introduction quickly grew into something much deeper. They continued seeing each other on weekends, each visit strengthening their bond and deepening their understanding of one another.

As their relationship blossomed, Kylee knew she wanted to share something very special with Francis — the shrine that had been such a meaningful part of her life. When they planned their visit, Francis recognized just how much the shrine meant to her. In that moment, he knew it would be the perfect place to ask her one of life’s most important questions.

While praying together in front of the altar in the shrine chapel, Francis asked Kylee to be his wife.

With joy in her heart, Kylee said yes.

We are truly blessed that Francis and Kylee chose to share this sacred and beautiful moment at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine. Their story is a testament to faith, trust, and the beauty of God’s timing.

As they begin this new chapter together, we pray that the Blessed Mother will hold them in her loving arms, guide their journey, and watch over their future with grace and protection. This truly is a blessed couple.
