Vocations update Sept. 2026

On Sept. 24, 2026, the Church will celebrate the beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This historic occasion will bring together Catholics from across the country and around the world to honor Archbishop Sheen’s life, ministry, and witness to Christ.

Our vocation team will be participating in the events prepared for that day by greeting guests at a booth sponsored by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. With 70,000 people expected for the beatification Mass, we will encounter many people in the course of the day, sharing the gift of the Precious Blood of Jesus.

If you have a special prayer intention that you would like us to take to the Mass, please send your intention to kcarter@preciousbloodus.org and we will hold your intention in prayer.

Over the last couple of years, we have noticed a growing interest in high school juniors and seniors asking questions about vocations. In July, the province vocation team, in collaboration with the Sisters of the Precious Blood, hosted our first Day of Recollection for high school students. Eight students participated in the day of prayer, and plans are being made to duplicate this offering in other areas of the province and to offer follow-up events for students a couple of times a year.

On Aug. 21, the vocation office hosted a successful concert by the Christian Artist Seph Schlueter at the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein, Montezuma campus. Seating for the concert was limited to 500, which sold out in the first week of registration! Our plan is to continue to remain connected with those who registered for the concert and to offer opportunities for future young adult gatherings.
