Vocations update October 2026
Inquirer update
The province has one person who is applying for acceptance into our formation program. If accepted, he will join our candidates at the San Felice Formation House to begin studies in January 2027. We also have four men who are currently using our discernment journal, a nine-module booklet of text and reflection questions. In this period of inquiry formation, the inquirer is paired with a C.PP.S. member who acts as their vocation sponsor. They meet monthly to discuss their discernment journey, listening to the story of their life, as they learn more about our mission, spirituality, community life, and history.
Fall Discernment Retreat Oct. 10-11
This retreat is for men ages 18-40 who are discerning their call from God. We will reflect upon how to navigate the distractions in the spiritual life that keep us from responding to God’s call so we can be ready to come to the banquet Christ has prepared for us. (Matthew 22:1-14).

Nov. 1-7 is National Vocation Awareness Week. This is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to ordained ministry and consecrated life through prayer, invitation, and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering these vocations. The province vocation office is preparing ready-to-use resources that can be used in a variety of ministerial settings.
New vocation discernment newsletter is in the works
The vocation team is working on the development of a Vocation Discernment Newsletter that will be a regular digital publication, offering resources for promoting vocations and creating a culture of vocations within the province. The newsletter will be posted online every two months, highlighting upcoming observances from the USCCB National Vocation Calendar, province vocation events, seasonal educational and promotional materials, as well as articles and ideas shared by members and various guest authors looking at best practices for promoting and encouraging vocational discernment.
