Vocations update October 2025
In week two of the recent General Assembly of the Precious Blood congregation, the delegates gathered in Assisi for a retreat leading up to the election of new leadership. One highlight was a Mass celebrated in the Church of St. Mary Major, which contains the tomb of St. Carlo Acutis, the 15-year-old “Influencer of God” whose short life continues to touch the hearts of people around the world.
St. Carlo’s life reminds us that all of us have been given a vocation, a call to serve God through a life of holiness. This is a wonderful reminder as we celebrate National Vocation Awareness week November 2-8, an annual week-long celebration dedicated to promoting vocations to ordained ministry and consecrated life through prayer, invitation, and education. To close the week, there will be a 5K Run for Vocations on Nov. 8 at St. Charles Center, hosted by the Knights of Columbus.
We will host our next Vocation Discernment Retreat at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, Ohio, on Nov. 8 and 9. This retreat is for men 18 years and older who want to learn more about a possible call to consecrated life and how to discern such a vocation. For further information, visit preciousbloodus.org and click on the Vocations tab.
Join us on Nov. 22 for an evening of music and worship for families and young adults, from 7-8:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, Missouri.
