Vocation Discernment Retreat:  Precious Blood, Stream of Mercy

April 11-12
St. Charles Center, Carthagena, Ohio

This retreat is for men ages 18-40 who are discerning their call from God. We will reflect upon the action of Jesus as he shed his Precious Blood in a stream of mercy bringing healing and hope to the world. The Missionaries of the Precious Blood continue the call that St. Gaspar heard in his heart to be a living stream of mercy, through the Precious Blood of Jesus, reaching out to the lost and forgotten people of God. Recall what the Risen Jesus said to Mary Magdalene at the tomb, “Go and tell the others.” That is our mission, to go and tell the others, “You are worth the Precious Blood of Jesus!” Is God calling you to this mission?

We need your help! Please invite someone you know who would benefit from this retreat. Send their name and contact information to Fr. Angelo at aanthony@preciousbloodus.org or call 937-228-9263, and we will send a registration form.

World Day of Prayer for Vocations

April 26, 2026

Good Shepherd Sunday, celebrated on the Fourth Sunday of Easter, is the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, designated to pray for and promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life. It highlights Jesus as the Good Shepherd who calls, guides, and lays down his life for his flock, encouraging the faithful to discern their own call to service. Some ideas to celebrate this day:

  • Speak about vocations before, during, or after liturgical celebrations.

  • Offer presentations in youth and young adult religious education classes.

  • Facilitate communal prayer services on college campuses and spaces where young adults gather.

  • Share your favorite vocation discernment prayers or songs.

  • Invite young people to share a meal with you and talk about the gift of vocation and call.

Prayer Intention: For young men and women; that God may give them the gift of understanding to discern their service in the Church by considering a call to the priesthood, diaconate, or consecrated life; and for the gift of courage to follow His call.
