Precious Blood Renewal Center update Dec. 2025

Fostering interfaith dialogue, a key aspect of the ministry of Precious Blood Renewal Center, was clearly on display in November.

Lama Matthew Palden Goch was the keynote speaker Nov. 5 for our monthly “Teach Us to Pray,” series, walking 15 participants, online and in person, through some meditation exercises. “These are just tools that any faith tradition can use in their contemplative practices,” Lama Matt said. The evening before, two presenters, one Catholic and one Muslim, discussed Marian devotions in the two traditions. About 30 people joined the discussion, which was co-hosted with the Dialogue Institute of Kansas City.

Both of these programs were recorded and the videos will soon be available on the Renewal Center website.

December brings three of our most popular programs to the Renewal Center. Folks will have two opportunities to make “An Advent Pilgrimage,” the morning of Dec. 6 and the evening of Dec. 9. Fr. Timothy Armbruster will lead us on an Advent journey, sharing stories of hope as we walk with pilgrims of the past, John the Baptist, Anna and Joachim, Mary and Joseph. Both sessions are available in person and by Zoom.

Lucia Ferrara will lead our annual St. Lucia Day Celebration on Dec. 12. St. Lucia Day is a popular tradition in Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, and eastern Europe, and our Lucia explores some of those traditions. St. James Parish middle school students will join us again for this celebration.

The highlight of our annual calendar is the Dec. 21 Winter Solstice Celebration. Fr. Timothy will lead us through a meditative exercise, and then we’ll walk to the Reconciliation Labyrinth with luminaries to light the way. We will conclude with a simple supper and fellowship. Fr. Timothy’s presentation “In the Darkness, Find the Light,” will be available by Zoom.

Details and registration for all the Renewal Center programs can be found at pbrenewalcenter.org/events/
