Precious Blood Renewal Center is having an open house and picnic. You’re invited!
We are extremely happy to report that — as we predicted in last month’s Messenger — the renovated guesthouse is open for business! And it opened on time. After the renovation, we have two accessible bedrooms on the first floor of the guesthouse. Flooring throughout the 35-year-old building has been replaced, and the kitchen, second floor bedrooms, and bathrooms have been updated.
In addition, foundation work and stabilization was completed, along with floor leveling. Old single-pane windows and wooden doors have been replaced with energy efficient units. Visitors probably won’t notice these parts of the project, but they ensure the continued long-term stewardship of the building.
The renovation was made possible by your generous donations to last summer’s campaign from the province’s Office of Mission Advancement.
We are so proud of the new place, we want to show it off!! We’re having a ribbon-cutting and open house to celebrate the remodeled guesthouse on Saturday, June 27 at 11 a.m. That is also the day of our annual summer picnic. Come for the ribbon-cutting, stay for the hamburgers and potato salad! Please register for the picnic, visit our website tinyurl.com/44676ctv or scan the QR code on this page.
The June 27 picnic is the biggest event of our summer schedule, but we will also be wrapping up our year-long program Teach Us to Pray.
June 4, members of the Universal Sufism tradition lead us in a prayer exercise using song and dance.
July 9, Dennis Coday will help us explore contemplative walking as a way to engage the body and senses in meditative practice.
Aug. 6, Danny Baker, the former music director at St. James Parish in Liberty, Missouri, will show us how music enhances the prayer experience.
All the sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. central time and are available in person or via Zoom. Register on our website.
Our search for an executive director continues. We are looking for an individual who can guide the center into its next phase of development. The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator with an advanced degree in pastoral ministry, spirituality, or spiritual direction and five to seven years of work experience in these areas. Visit pbrenewalcenter.org/jobs for details and learn about the application procedure.
