Peacemakers Dinner award for PBSI
The Precious Blood Spirituality Institute (PBSI) was recently honored with the Diakionia Award from Catholic Theological Union during its Peacemakers Dinner on April 29, 2026. The award was created by Catholic Theological Union to honor those in the local community who have dedicated their efforts to serving God and neighbor. For PBSI, the honor affirms its dedication to fostering deeper understanding and lived practice of Precious Blood spirituality through education, retreats, leadership development, and community engagement.
Founded to continue the mission and spirituality rooted in the Precious Blood tradition, PBSI has, in four years, become a trusted resource for clergy, religious, and lay leaders seeking meaningful spiritual formation grounded in reconciliation, hospitality, and accompaniment. Through workshops, online programming, publications, and collaborative partnerships, the institute continues to expand its reach while remaining deeply connected to its mission of renewal and service.
Representatives of PBSI’s founding congregations and board of directors accepted the award with gratitude and humility, emphasizing that diakionia — meaning service — is never the work of one individual alone. Rather, it is sustained by collaboration, faith, and communities' willingness to respond to others' needs with compassion and hope.
For PBSI, the Diakionia Award serves not only as an honor but also as an encouragement to continue its mission of forming communities rooted in service, reconciliation, and transformative hope.
