Vocations update Nov. 2025
Nov. 2-8, National Vocation Awareness Week. During this week, please pray that young people in today’s culture will hear and respond to God’s call. Ask Our Lord for more dedicated priests, deacons, religious sisters and religious brothers. May the witness of our lives inspire young people to consider a call from God to serve the Church as a Missionary of the Precious Blood. To close the week, there will be a 5K Run for Vocations on Nov. 8 at St. Charles Center hosted by the Knights of Columbus.

Nov. 8-9, Vocation Discernment Retreat. This retreat is for men, 18 years and older, who want to learn more about a possible call to serve the church as a priest or brother within the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. The title of the retreat is “Zeal for Your House Consumes Me,” which comes from the Sunday’s gospel as Jesus stands at the threshold of the temple and overturns the money changers tables. Does love of God consume your heart? We will gather at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, Ohio. For further information, visit preciousbloodus.org and click on the vocations tab or contact Fr. Angelo at aanthony@preciousbloodus.org.
Nov. 22, 2025, Called to Live in Hope! An evening of music and worship for families and young adults, from 7-8:30 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, Missouri. Our presenter will be Tony Melendez, a Nicaraguan-American guitar player, composer, singer, and songwriter who was born without arms. Through music and the sharing of personal life stories, Tony’s message of hope, encouragement, and faith reaffirms our call to become saints.
Message from Pope Leo: “I would also like to add a word about vocations … God continues to call, and he remains faithful to his promises … Do not be afraid to present young people with demanding and liberating possibilities for their future! As we look to the young men and women who even now are generously responding to the Lord’s call, may all of us feel the desire to renew our “yes,” and to rediscover the beauty of being missionary disciples of Christ the Good Shepherd.”
