Grateful for Sisters of the Precious Blood
Later this month, Sr. Donna Liette, C.PP.S., and Sr. Carolyn Hoying, C.PP.S., will be leaving Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation and returning to Dayton, Ohio. Over the past 15 years, these two dedicated Sisters of the Precious Blood have ministered to us all here at PBMR and helped build a more beloved community for youth, mothers, families, and far beyond. We could not be more blessed.
During her time at PBMR, Sr. Donna has been a part of our prison ministry and later founded the Family Forward Program, serving the needs of mothers and grandmothers who have lost children to gun violence and incarceration. Her deep commitment to the community and recognition of the deep need for healing inspired our founding of the Healing Team in 2023. Sr. Donna has ministered to countless women and their families, helping them all know that in their darkest hour, there is hope and healing in their future.
Sr. Caroyln has spent the last 12 years cultivating relationships and nutritious food in the PBMR Urban Farm. From humble beginnings as a community garden with a few raised beds on an old school playground, the PBMR Urban Farm has grown to a 45+ bed oasis producing over 6,000 pounds of produce each year. Together with Mary Harkenrider and Fredo Alverez, they provide fresh produce for PBMR and the surrounding community — and teach principles of restorative justice and community — the roots of hospitality.
We would like to invite any who are able to join us for a Celebration Fundraiser honoring Sr. Carolyn and Sr. Donna on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Our goal is to be together as a community to celebrate the gift they have been to us all and to raise funds to ensure their ministry of hospitality, hope, and healing can move forward for years to come.
For those who would like to leave a virtual greeting card for Sr. Donna and/or Sr. Carolyn, you can do so on the PBMR website at https://www.pbmr.org/celebration-fundraiser.
PBMR is deeply grateful to Sr. Donna and Sr. Carolyn for their ministry, their friendship, and their deep love of our community. We are, each and every one of us, doubly blessed to have had them serve our community these many years.
