Attempt on former President Donald Trump’s Life.
As the nation reels from the attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life over the weekend, we’re called to reflect on the profound impact of acts of violence on the moral and spiritual fabric of society. The inherent dignity of every human life is a principle deeply rooted in our faith and the Spirituality of Precious Blood. That principle compels us to denounce all forms of violence, particularly those involving firearms.
The attempt on President Trump’s life is not just an isolated incident, but a symptom of a broader societal ailment – the pervasive culture of violence. We’re called to examine our collective conscience with a renewed commitment to fostering peace and reconciliation. Motivated by the Blood of Christ and called to be ministers of reconciliation . . . we affirm our belief in the sacredness of life. Our societal commitment must be toward disarming the structures of violence and building communities rooted in charity and safety. Bonded in charity, we seek to create a safe environment by promoting a culture of life and peace, as well as a fundamental shift in how we view and value human life.
We pray for the soul of Corey Comperatore, who was killed in the attempt on Mr. Trump’s life, as well as for the Comperatore family. Please also pray for the two other victims, who remain hospitalized, and for the soul of the gunman and the healing of his family.
